Chief
This is a unique one-of-a-kind handmade appliqued jacket
Every piece of this applique is drawn, cut, pieced and assembled by hand
Each applique requires 6-8+ hours to be fully constructed due to the tedious multi-step process of making them by hand.
These peaces inherently carries a sense of individuality and craftsmanship that observers can appreciate and while wearing them you become the narrator of the story and meaning behind them. Creating a common ground for fly conversation.
Background: Eastern Kentucky has a rich history with Native Americans and tobacco farming. The chief is referenced from an antique cigarette ad I found from the 1920's, appliqued onto a vintage blanket lined Carhartt chore coat who belonged to a tobacco farmer I knew personally. This peace represents Kentucky's strong culture and heritage
Appliqued with denim, twill, linen, duck canvas and cotton fabric.
